The packing begins.

I’ve been living in my apartment since I was 18.

I moved in shortly after I got home from the military, and have been living here quite nicely for a while, but there are some things that are making me move away from the area I currently reside at .. (Middle school kids being twats and trying to vandalize the door to get up into the apartments, fights, crappy security,… among other things..) I found a nice little house and spent most of my inheritance on it.. going from a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, one full kitchen to a 2 bedroom, full attic, sun room, full kitchen and full bathroom, full basement, house. From 750 square feet to 1,080 square feet..

I just started packing up.. and it feels so odd to see all of my stuff be put in boxes and everything.. my two cats, mostly the one who was the runt of the litter, (Shadow), are getting skiddish, and walking around the boxes and wondering whats going on..

So far, the 360, Wii, and all of my DVDs are all packed up and ready for transfer. After that I think I’ll start sorting through my clothes and etc.

I need to find out what clothes I’m going to keep and which I’m going to throw away or throw to the Goodwill pile. I think I’m going to limit what clothes I’m going to take because I just have too many, and I don’t need so many clothes crowding up my tiny little closet in the new house.

The big thing for me, though, will be getting my couch and etc, out of here. I believe we’re going to call a local moving company for those, but I’m not for certain.

I’ve already begun to systematically decide where I’m going to place my two 27 inch tv’s, the entertainment stuff, my DDR pad, and my Guitar Hero 2 guitar..

We’ll see how all of this goes..

It’s sort of nerve wracking to be moving after so long..

Mixed emotions today.

Today, I have the weirdest mixed feelings.

As for why:

First the good news:

I get the key to my house tonight. I become the legal owner of a home. I’m excited more than anything else in the world right now about that.

There’s so much going on with that, with the excitement and everything, comes in the bad news..

The bad news:

As of last night, my cell phone is dead.

My cellular phone was washed in the clothes in an attempt to get my stuff clean before the move.

It’s deader than a doornail.

While I suppose this is a good thing because my phone is considered “out of date”, it means that I can get a replacement.

As for what I’m thinking about getting, I’m thinking about the Motorola Gold V3:

As many of my friends know, I have a very rabid obsession with the color yellow. I recently found out that these phones, when they’re properly unlocked, work with Cingular’s network, and they’re not considered obsolite. However, the big problem I have, is that my current phone didn’t have insurance. What this means is, I have to buy the V3 completely.. I can’t just go in and get a replacement. This is most odd considering I thought I’d paid for insurance… well, on this new phone I think I may take it into Cingular and buy the insurance on it if I can… either that or make sure every single time I do laundry to make sure my damn phone isn’t in my jeans pockets.

Anyway, more about the house. Closing occurs today sometime, and my mother will be giving me the key at about 4:30ish Eastern Standard Time. After that I may take my friend Kurt through the house to show him where I’ll be living from here on out after the de-and-reconstruction is finished.

It’s been a very confusing day with emotions…
