I’m so sore.

I just got done with my first class of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo.

I was invited by someone I’ve known since my middle school days to join her husband and her for their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo class. I brought my sweat pants and a tshirt, and when I got there they gave me a double-weave Judo Gi. It was a bit too large for me, but I still wore it. I nearly passed out from the intro exercise, but after having two bottles of water I was okay. After messing around a bit and learning from John (a black belt in Judo) how to do a foot sweep, I learned how to throw people. That was quite fun, but it’s a lot harder than it looks. Don (the husband of Heather.. the people I was out with tonight) taught me the very basic elements of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which is basically a ground grapple based fighting technique. Don’s a blue belt, but he’s going for his green belt later today/tomorrow (06-30-07).. I was impressed about how complicated it truly is.

I’m so out of shape that I was sweating like a pig during the sparing, but then again, so was everyone else. I truthfully had a blast tonight, but my shoulders and my upper chest region are incredibly sore. Don says they’ll feel worse in the morning. ( Joy of joys. )

The strange thing is, it’s a good pain, the kind that makes me think I should of done this a while ago.

I think I might sign up for the classes because they’re a pretty good deal. 85$ or so a month for Jiu-Jitsu and Judo, and if I wish I can try out boxing, and Muay Thai. I might combine the Jiu-Jitsu and Judo with the Muay Thai, so I can have the throws with the ground grapples, and have a ground basis for punches and throws. I think it might work really well.

After the class, we all went out to TGI Fridays and I had their new three miniburger meal. It was alright, nothing much to write home about, but right now.. I’m so exhausted, I think I’m going to take a nice hot bath and relax, then goto bed.

Updates.

Not much is going on as of late.

I’ve been playing Lord of the Rings: Online. My Lore-Master is now 25. I’ve pretty much stopped playing my Minstrel because I got tired of healing all the time.

My LM.

This is what my LM looks like, at the current time. I might have a new armor in two days, depending on if I win an auction I have some of my silver on. I love the fact that I have a bear, and I’m both combat based and support based as well, my only complaint about the class is the fact that the Lore-Master is actually confined to using light armor. Even at the max level (level 50) Lore Masters are forced to use light armor. They get traits that allow them to use swords at level 45, or so, but, they never can use medium armor. They also get hawks which are really impressive.

Kurt finally bought his new computer, and it’ll be arriving in the mail here at my house soon, so we can assemble it. After he gets a bit more money together he said I’m getting my Christmas present early.

My Christmas present is a new Motherboard, computer case and dvd burner, and perhaps a new graphics card.

As for why, it’s because my current computer everything is else is pretty much non-Compaq as it gets because I’ve gutted the original RAM, processor, and everything else, and formatted the hard drive(s) clean. The only thing that remains from my original Compaq’s box is the BIOS, and the case. Because we can’t gut the motherboard, because it’s a specialty Compaq socket, I have to buy a new motherboard. With the new motherboard, and case, it’d be easier to just buy a new dvd-rom rather than gut it out of the old case.

Here’s what the new case will look like:

I’m quite excited to have it because I can rearrange my desk to have my computer monitor on top of my computer.

Other than that, I can’t say that much else is going on. I’m still unemployed, and waiting for my family lawyer to talk about Social Security disability.
