Oh, Karma, how I love thee.

Current mood: Ecstatic Ecstatic.

Karma:

A Hindu belief where the term originated, it is the idea that the good and evil a person does will return either in this life or in a later one.

Also known as “What goes around, comes around.”

Allow me to explain.

A while back, I was having massive problems with my old manager (James), if you remember, where he was leaving me alone in the store for long periods of time, and not helping me on the clock. This happened quite a few times. He’d walk out on me, leaving me to run the store completely alone, with long lines. Now, you need to understand that this happened so many times that I finally broke down and wrote district my concerns about it.

My district, said that until we have proof (ie: more people testifying about it) or we have it on close circuit television or CCTV, (and the store I’m in doesn’t have CCTV) we can’t do anything about it.

Well a few of my friends (including my best friend at work, and assitant manager, Frank) came forward with facts that he was doing it, and had done it on them as well. Not much happened to my knowledge.. however, karma works in funny ways.

We switched managers for the Christmas holiday. We got new managers in (I’ve been meaning to write about them but soon it won’t matter, and later in this blog I’ll explain why), and Frank went to a new store, and James went to a new store seperate from the store that Frank went to (to see who was doing more work).. anyways, let me get to the point..

James was managering a new store with a new associate and an assistant manager who came from a new location. This assistant manager went to lunch and told James he’d be back within 10-15 minutes. James said it was alright. So, the assistant manager left for work and left James in the store with an associate who was two weeks old, yes, two weeks. Apparently this associate, being so “young” in the company didn’t know squat, however, James took advantage of the situation, and left the store. Re-read that last sentance. James left the store. Complete with waving goodbye to the new associate. The new associate was stranded alone in the store until they called another store for help with a manager who was working in the store not even 30 minutes away. The best part? This was all caught on CCTV.

You know what this means?

Yup. James was fired, he’s no longer with the company.

He was fired yesterday (the same day I paid off my Wii and Zelda). Now, yesterday may not seem like much, but yesterday was his birthday. :D

I guess he’s going to have to work on his music (WARNING: LINK NOT FOR THOSE WITH SENSITIVE EARS), a bit more until he hits it big. (If he ever does..)

He might as well forget about working as a manager ever again too, because once your fired from a manager position (especially one in a prestigious position like EB/Gamestop) you can forget about working as a manager ever again.

Anyways, more news in my life, I’ve got a job interview with Hollywood Video tomorrow. 3:00, with Nicole.

They’re offering more hours, and hopefully about the same pay. I put $5.80 (which is 10 cents more than I’m making at EB/Gamestop) on my application, and they called me in, so I’m assuming they’re ok with paying me that. We’ll see where things go, and I’ll drop an update on the blog as soon as I know if I have the job or not.

I also, got into the World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade beta because a friend of mine plays Guild Wars and didn’t need/use his key.. It’s awesome. :D

Anyways, thats it for now for news in my life..

-A.
