Current mood:
Jubilant.
Yup!
Today, I had a second interview at another Hollywood Video (this time with Tina), and after about 10 minutes into the interview we just sat back like old friends and joked around about movies and things we do in our spare time.. I was pretty sure I got the job at that point but when she said “Do you have any questions for me?” I jokingly said “So does this mean I can give EB/Gamestop my two weeks notice?” she smiled and told me “My next question for you was when can you start?”
We haven’t talked anything about hours or anything yet (I’m going to ask them to crank my hours), but they’re already offering more pay. Five cents more, that may not seem like much, but hey, it’s more than than EB/Gamestop was/is(?) paying me. Plus with the more hours thing, cash will really start to pile up. Plus, they promote from within, incredibly quickly. Nicole, the girl who’s now my manager, has had a guy since August and she’s already promoted him to Shift Leader. (That’s fast…)
Now on top of the additional pay, I also get free rentals from my ‘home store’ which means anything in the store that I’ll be working at, I can basically just take home, and then watch, and return. FREE RENTALS! Woohoo!
So, as of today (rather tonight), I’m going to try to start writing a letter to Greg (my current manager at EB/Gamestop) and telling him that November 19th will be my last day (I figure they’ll want me, of all associates to work the Wii launch because I know the most about it.)..
I don’t want to burn bridges, because Frank told me to make sure that I’m rehirable, because I think if he comes back to the UP Mall store, he’ll want me to work with him again. We’ll see though.
Other than that, I can’t think of much news, but this was definately worth writing about.
