E3 + New Mp3 Player = Delayed update.

Alrighty, so I haven’t updated in a bit. Why?

Let’s see. I’ve been working my arse off, and I’ve also been enjoying certain highlights of E3.

Namely the Nintendo Wii.

Yes, Nintendo’s done it again. I honestly truly believe that Nintendo may climb to the top of the ladder with this new system. Not only are the graphics looking amazing, but the games themselves look stunning.. Not to mention the new controller.

This E3 belongs to Nintendo. Why? Smash Brothers Brawl. If they didn’t show anything else, everyone would of still been happy. But they showed more than that. They showed Zelda: Twilight Princess, for GCN and Wii, and more..

Let’s say that if Nintendo markets this thing for 200$, I will be very, very happy. Virtual console, new controller, and tons of wonderful games coming for it.

But enough prattling on about the Nintendo Wii..

I got a new mp3 player.

As you remember from a previous entry, my Notmad Zen bricked.. died, keeled over and went to the big music player’s place in the sky. (I imagine Bach sits around and composes music for them to play all day/night long..).

After careful consideration I went with an IRiver H10 Color.

IRiver.

It’s got a whole host of features:

• Plays up to 600 hours of digital music
• 20GB of internal storage
• Vivid color display
• Ultra-intuitive interface with convenient touch strip
• Displays your digital photos
• Slim, lightweight design
• PlaysForSure enabled to play more of your music
• Rechargeable battery lasts up to 16 hours
• Built-in FM tuner and FM recorder
• Integrated voice recorder
• Ultra-fast USB 2.0 transfers
• Supports MP3, WMA, JPEG and TXT files
• Enhanced 3D audio (supports SRS WOW™)

Over all, I’m sad the Zen bricked, but, I paid for my iRiver by myself, with one paycheck.. and was it worth it?

HECK YES.

I love it, I carry it with me everywhere, along with the folding Sennheiser PX100 headphones they sent me for free with it. ($49.99 value.)

Aside from that, not much is going on, I gave my mother her mother’s day gift early (last night) it was a glass cat for her glass collectibles collection. Didn’t cost me very much, but she was very, very happy with it.. so this mother’s day will go over without a hitch.

I’ve got today, tomorrow, and Sunday off, so I think I’m going to kick back and relax. Next week I have 19.5 hours, with a chance to pick up three additional with the flex hours we have in the schedule. It’ll be a busy week. :)

Everyone have a great weekend!

Pigeon Snacks.

What drives a normal person to eat a pigeon ?

Yes, the pigeon, little grey flight enabled, commonly sighted at amusement parks bird. What on earth would drive a person to eat one?

I admit, I’ve eaten some pretty odd things in my life time at 25… In no particular order: Caviar (fish eggs, for those who don’t know what that is..). Octopus, Lobster (though I hate it), Spiders, Katsup, and last Military food..(including MREs). But again, I state, what makes a person hungry enough to eat one of these:

Pigeon.

How do you even cook pigeon? Mash (shoot?) em, boil em, stick em in a stew?

The reason I bring this into light is because today while waiting all of fifteen minutes for the bus, I encountered what I’m going to brand from here on out as Transpo Crazies™. You’ve all read my weblog before and have read about my adventures with Transpo Crazies™, but now they have a name. Why now after all this time? Because the hero(?) of our story today (Pigeon Eating Man) so inspired me to write, that I ran upstairs before the bus came and wrote most of this blog on the bus, on paper!

I have no idea what this blog would be without Transpo Crazies™, or the much more vast and expansive critters known as Indiana Crazies™, and the stories they generate for me to write about, but it’d probably be a lot more boring.

Anyway, back to the subject at hand.. Eating pigeons.

I suppose if you’re hungry enough you’ll eat anything.. as shown as by the Science Channel’s Survivorman. But still, wouldn’t you rather eat a Kellogg’s Special K Blueberry Bar (my breakfast today.. x2..) or a Butterfinger candy bar instead? I suppose if you were stranded in a desert like Lee Stroud in Survivorman, you’d eat anything you can get your hands on, but you wouldn’t have pigeons.. you’d have lizards or something…

I brought this subject up with Frank (my assistant manager) at work, and he mentioned he’d probably eat them. Then again, Frank will eat anything with enough Katsup on it.. he’s just that way. A regular who happened to be in the store at the same time we were discussing this subject mentioned that in some of the lower fifty states, its actually illegal to take road kill off the road and consume it.

Do we really have that much of a problem that people can’t scrap up $1.06 (or whatever it is in the lower fifty states..) and pay for a cheeseburger at McDonalds? Yeesh. Road kill branches out and opens up a whole new menu.. Dog, possum, skunk.. makes the tummy grumble and rumble with excitement .. doesn’t it? Mmm. Fresh skunk off the highway, just like the way mom used to make…

Puke..

Speaking of getting sick..

The Ryan’s Steakhouse where I used to work a long time ago, was rumored to be shut down yesterday because they didn’t have sufficient work staff.. Wither or not this is true, I haven’t got a clue but there weren’t any cars in the parking lot when the bus drove by at 11:30 in the afternoon.. I guess the Illegal Immigrant Strike had more of an effect on them than they thought was possible. As it is, I don’t know why they haven’t closed that places doors for good yet.. they never seem to have any business as it is..

That’s about all thats happened today, because we had a pretty slow day at work, but it was fun.. and tomorrows my day off, so I think this might be enough to get you thinking of Pigeon with BBQ sauce… :)
