Mozart & The Whale, and Updates.

Mozart & The Whale

Mozart & The Whale’s Rotten Tomatoe site.

A dramatic, romantic comedy, “Mozart and the Whale” is inspired by the lives of two people with Asperger’s Syndrome, a form of autism, whose emotional dysfunctions threaten to sabotage their budding romance. Donald (Josh Hartnett) is a good-natured but hapless taxi driver with a love of birds and a superhuman knack for numbers. Like many AS sufferers, he likes patterns and routines. But when the beautiful but complicated Isabelle (Radha Mitchell) joins the autism support group he leads, his life-and his heart-are turned upside down.

Wow.

I took the time to locate this, and I’m, I’m in awe. I wonder if I’m this unique. I knew that Asperger’s Syndrome a/effects me and makes me unusual, but, I wonder if it makes me this ….quirky. If it does, I wonder what my quirks are.. Josh Hartnett’s character has a impressive aptitude with numbers. I hate math. I always have. I haven’t the slightest clue what my ‘advantage’, in is life.

I heard about this in the news paper, because they had an article about autism, I unfortunately, lost the article. I’m quite upset about it, but I’m glad I remembered the name of the flick.

If anyone needs a new movie to rent, try this… it’s impressive.

As for updates, I’m working loads of hours lately. Two days ago I worked a nine hour shift. It’s quite astounding when I face the fact that I’ve got a job who likes me for my sales technique. We set our own hours according to the quotas we meet. I’m consistantly meeting quotas. Because of this, I’m getting absolutely fantastic hours. This coming week (starting today) I’ve got twenty-three hours. (The whole week.)

According to my manager, the minimal number of hours that an associate can get is three hours. A co-associate (aka Ashley), is getting nine hours a week. My assistant manager, and one of my friends, Frank, was being nice to her, and gave her two extra hours from the time she accumulated with her numbers. In reality she should be earning seven… seven hours a week. How this works out is beyond me. Three hours for just showing up at work, and she’s earning seven.

Oh well.

I’ve moved on from World of Warcraft (after I hit level 40), and I’m playing a new MMO. It’s called Auto Assault. It’s a lot more fun than World of Warcraft. As for reasons why: World of Warcraft used to have a pick up and play for 10-30 minutes quality, where you could feel like you could get something done, but, because of the recent patches it’s kind of fallen apart, and really doesn’t do that anymore. Auto Assault, you can pick up and play for like, 10 minutes and actually feel like you’ve accomplished something experience wise. The game also happens to be a lot of fun, theres something about driving extremely fast, hitting a ramp, and landing on a house and watching it crumble under the car.

I just recently got a Debit Card, so I’ve decided that I’ll be buying a few things:

First and formost, a t-shirt I’ve been lusting after on Threadless.com for a while :

Nuts!

Second, my Think Geek points were going to be expiring, (according to an email that I got) so I had to use them. I had over 3000, so I picked out a T-Shirt:

Think Geek Shirt., and because it was more than $15, I could use 2,000 of my Think Geek points on this:

Alarm Clock.

Ok, so it looks like an Alarm Clock.. that’s exactly what it is except for it’s got a special feature:

The Neverlate 7-day Alarm clock is perfect for those of us who are, if you’ll pardon the pun, tired of oversleeping. As its name implies, it has seven alarms, one for each day of the week. The independent daily alarms make this clock a must for the dorm. You’ll be able to get the maximum sleep based on your class schedule. And the snooze button can give you anywhere from 1 to 30 minutes of extra sleep – your call. Also, there is a magic “nap” button, which is a gem for both dorm and office. One push and you can set a nap duration from 1 to 120 minutes – then just go to sleep, the clock does the rest.

My mom and dad say I’m obsessed with time. Maybe thats what my ‘obssession’ is with autism, I love clocks, time, and the way we humans tell the passing of our days. I haven’t a clue, but I love watches and such.. so.. *Laughing.*

Other than that, I’ve got my eyes on a DS Lite, I’m probably going to be importing the Lite (*Pun* :D), greenish one. I have no idea when it’ll arrive, but I’ll be ordering it on Thursday after I get my pay check cashed. :)

After I finish ordering the DS Lite, I’m going to start saving for a trip to the UK. My mother finally told me that she things I’m responsible enough, and old enough to take trip on my own, if I get picked up in Heathrow airport. As for the reason why I’m wanting to goto the UK, I’ve got a very, very good friend there, who visited me back in 2002… and I think it’s about time I visited him. :)

Other than that, work keeps me busy, and I’m still actively persuing a new lady after Jessica and I ended things… but I’m hoping that after next week her finals will be done, and we can go out on our first date.

Anyways, this Whale’s (you’ll understand when you see Mozart & The Whale) outta here for the evening/morning.

Placenta Soup anyone?

‘In an interview with GQ, Cruise said:

“I’m gonna eat the placenta, too. I thought that would be good. Very nutritious. I’m going to eat the cord and the placenta right there.”‘

So apparently there’s another scientologist in the world, Suri Cruise.

Congrats to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes for birthing another Xenu slave.

So yeah, I know that’s not about my own life, but I thought it’s utterly disgusting. Placenta Soup anyone?

Why am I writing at 1:33 AM? Because quite frankly, I just got woken up by a nose bleed, and I haven’t updated in a while.

Why haven’t I updated? I’ve been working, and because I’ve been playing Brain Age for the Nintendo DS, and if I’m not busy doing either of those two things, I’m playing a Sudoku.

Yes, Sudoku, the craze that’s taken United States by storm. For good reason too, once you start playing them, you can’t stop. They’re incredibly hard (even the easy ones take me a half hour to an hour..), but after you get going, you really don’t want to stop. If you don’t know what Sudoku is,

Sudoku (: 数独, sūdoku), sometimes spelled Su Doku, is a placement puzzle, also known as Number Place in the United States. The aim of the puzzle is to enter a number from 1 through 9 in each cell of a grid, most frequently a 9×9 grid made up of 3×3 subgrids (called “regions”), starting with various numbers given in some cells (the “givens”). Each row, column and region must contain only one instance of each number. …

I know it sounds incredibly easy, but, believe me, it is anything but easy.

Web Sudoku, the site I keep linking to, has 6,670,903,752,021,072,936,960 different completable 9×9 Sudokus. I think that has enough to last me a while, but I’ve also got 100+ on my DS with Brain Age. Needless to say, I’m a happy puzzle doer. (Doer? Is that even a word? Oh well.) .. Try one.. if you have time. :)

As for other news in my life, I found some things out about why someone ended things with me, I shan’t talk about them because I think she still reads this journal, but frankly, I’m not happy about them. I haven’t talked to her, or her new ‘boyfriend’ for a few days, I do have somethings to give her, but I’m still very uncomfortable about things, if you want to know more, just mail me and ask whats going on.

I’ve got two people in mind who I’d like to take out, both, have already accepted my invite to chill out, one has accepted to go out with me to a movie, but she’s kind of busy with current things in her life. The other, I met on Myspace, and we talk a bit, and we’ve got a lot in common, and she’s really sweet, but I don’t know much about her, like I do the other one.

As for work, I’m working a ton of hours lately, tomorrow.. or should I say, today, I’m working nine, yes, nine hours. I might work nine and a half, but it depends on when James comes and picks me up. The good news about today, is that I get to wear casual apparel because we’re re-arranging the store. Yup, the EB I’m working for is re-doing the store layout to match a Gamestop layout, it’s going to be incredibly odd, but, I think I’ll get used to it. I just hope our customers do. The configuration will be much much nicer.

As for other things in my life, I’m getting absolutely obsessed with Law and Order, all versions of it, and I’m quite happy because TNT airs them pretty much every single day. There are quite a few great episodes, and then there are episodes that are sheer crap. I guess I can’t win them all. I’m still watching Grey’s Anatomy, (it’s still my favorite show on TV). ABC also started another show, that has some premise, but not much, What About Brian.. it’s sort of hard to describe, but I enjoyed the pilot.

The next few days I have off, I think I’m going to spend cleaning my apartment, I wanted to during Easter (which, by the way was slow except for the Cadbury eggs I picked up and enjoyed), but I slept too much. :( Big mistake, but I think I’ll make up for it soon.

Anyways, I need to sleep after this episode of Without A Trace (pvred) is over. It’s got 10 minutes left, and I’m drifting asleep. The good news is that my nose has stopped bleeding.
