Uhg. I’m sick.

Ever had a cold so bad that it felt like nails were sticking in your ribs whenever you coughed?

When you don’t cough, you feel as if you’ve got battery acid dripping down your throat?

Yeah.. that’s the way I feel right now.

Unfortunately for me, I’ve been coughing almost every other minute. No, this doesn’t mean I’m going to call in sick to work, but if they try to send me home, I’m not sure I’ll object. I slept something like 14 hours, and I’m still feeling awful.

As for work today, I’ve got a pretty easy shift.. 11-4:00, and I’m working with James all day. What this means for me, is that I’ll be cashiering again. James usually works on other ” more important” things when I’m there with him, but maybe he’ll see that I’m not feeling up to par today, and let me head out early. I might even call in and let him hear me, but the sad truth of the matter is.. I want to work. I need to work.

Why?

Because Jessica and her friend Doug are hitting Notre Dame today because Doug has never seen it, and partly because I want to get my new computer in five or six pay checks.

As for things with Jessica… They’re going as well as I could hope. It’s hard to believe, tomorrow will be our fourth month together as a couple. Four months and she already knows me better than anyone I’ve ever dated before. She’s simply amazing. I love and care about her more than anything else right now in my life, and I’ll do anything to make her happy. I’m almost 100% sure that she knows that too.

As for what else is going on in my life, I can’t say much. I’m still watching Grey’s Anatomy on ABC almost religiously. I believe I’ve only missed two episodes. The only reason why I’ve missed two is because they were reschedualed because of things like the Super Bowl or some ‘major’ event. It’s easily my favorite show on TV, not to mention one of the only things I watch on TV. I’ve got three shows I really ‘watch’ on TV.. Grey’s Anatomy, Supernatural, and Family Guy. If I’m not watching those, I’m flipping between the Science channel (what used to be known as the Discovery channel), and the History Channel.

Work is fun, and still remains interesting at times, other times it’s slower than molassis on a cold day. Today, more than likely, will be one of those days because it’s Monday. Here’s the way it usually works:

Monday- Deader than a door nail.
Tuesday- Still dead. yet, more awake than Monday.
Wendsday-Moderately awake and kicking, with some idiot customers.
Thursday-Dead, suprisingly.
Friday-Now we’re talking business, because everyone has their pay checks and the kids are out of school.
Saturday-Again, extremely busy, because everyones still using the small remainders of their checks.
Sunday-Begins to slow back down to a Monday pace, but it can still be busy at times.

That’s always the way things work around EB.

We’re going to be converting to our new P.O.S (Point of Sale) systems soon. I’m sure I can wait for the conversion, because with the conversion it means that we’re finally becoming ‘Gamestop’ after they bought us out last year sometime. Yeah, it’ll be incredibly interesting seeing a new computer system after I’m just getting used to the P.O.S for EB. It shouldn’t be too tough, from what I’ve heard it’s all function based like our old ones are, so that shouldn’t be too bad. James has also invited me to come in and help replace the computer systems or watch them install them. I may take the invite, but I may not, because the ‘conversion’ as they like to call it on all the ‘offical’ paper-work, is schedualed to take place 12:00 AM - @ 2:00 AM, and I’m not even sure I’ll be working that day, but I’ll talk to James about that schedual when the day comes down to it.

Anyway, I need to take a shower and get ready for work, if I’m even going to be going in today.

-A.
